Nature workshops for children
Our children are spending most of their time living mainly from the mind, eyes on electronic devices… While these have their place in our lives, sadly a disconnection and higher levels of anxiety and mental fatique is happening for the child. I’m observing that children are not easily able to just be in the moment, feeling and noticing beauty, simple joy and magic around them. They are engaging in spontaneous play less and less. There is much that they are losing out on. . It is my desire to re-connect our children to nature so that their body and spirit is nurtured too.
It is my intention to provide space for a more holistic, balanced experience of learning so that mindful living is practiced each day. This in turn positively contributes to their interactions with others and their environment. I am passionate about encouraging heart-centred living.
So I created some workshops for children to come and enjoy during the December school holidays:
I decided to begin with birds and butterflies because they are such a valuable part of organic gardening. Secondly when our children come to appreciate wildlife, kindness and respect naturally follows.
When we engage with the actual planting, there is sensory play involved as they get to feel and learn the difference between potting soil and compost.
On Day 3 they will learn about nutrition and the way food affects our mood. Each day during snack time there will also be wonderful opportunity to learn more about this.
Each day they get to take home what they have created.

Each workshop will be from:
10:30am to 12 pm
Venue: The Vines, Malan Street, Riebeek West
Cost: R150 per workshop

All materials and a light nutritious snack is included. I will also share tips for the parent, via email, on how to keep this connection alive once the child returns back home. A recipe will also be included.
These workshops will be a blend of play, creativity and mindfulness. I believe that connection to nature brings a sense of calm, kindness, wonder and joy.
In this magical space, the children will be exploring, observing, creating and gardening. Classes will be small. If your child is shy, please be reassured that my manner is very gentle and nurturing. To book a place for your child please contact me:
