Nature holds the Mother essence….. the feminine energy.
She is a living breathing womb space
Birthing beauty, serenity and endless nourishment.
From her womb space
She holds the seeds that are yet to become the flowers, the food, the medicine… the sustenance
As she brings forth life from the earth … she births simple yet profound support to our bodies, our minds, our souls as we receive from her.
Birds, bees, butterflies engage with her presence offering moments where we get to slow down, notice and be in deep appreciation.
A web of connection is woven from her gifts into our lives.
Trees offer a shady haven to place a table and create art,
…we find inspiration to fill pages with our words that may in turn nourish someone else
Beneath her trees we come together and connect with loved ones around a meal,
A mother lays out a blanket and reads to a curious child
From her womb space
seeds bring forth a patch of lawn for our children to play on,
for a tired mama to stretch out and rekindle her spirit…
for a child to regain the light in their eyes and free their natural essence once more.
From her womb space…
she births the forests, the green belts the woodland pathways…
so that we may walk and breathe in a tangible peace as our bodies and our breathing soften
As I absorb her essence, the child in me comes out to play. I recall bygone days of the wonder i experienced within her presence.
In her presence, the busy mind quietens and we are able to hear the whispers, the wisdom coming forth from our own heart.
From this connection to mama earth… I am always able to return to love…
…return to an inner joy that begins to flower within me.
…because i now am softer inside… a gentleness has been restored to my soul.
…because now i am easier able to smile with eyes that are kind…
…because prayer comes easier when I am soft inside.
I have come to connect with mama earth with more reverance than I have before. She is feeling like sacred beauty
In my garden, along my nature walks, in the early morning light… I witness her magic, her mystery in action.
There is a tangible living essence to her presence. As I humbly and excitedly watch seeds sprout in a garden pot, watch a flower form on my cucumber plant and then witness the shape of the actual cucumber forming, from that flower…
When I walk in nature I experience a mysterious sense of feeling “held” by a presence greater than my physical self.
I am in awe.
Somehow the child in me comes out to play as well, as my hands gather interesting colours and shapes and i recall bygone days where the natural world was such an easy connection, a valued companion for a child. How did we come to lose our way so much.
As the season changes into autumn this side, as spring bursts forth in other parts of the world… I draw closer to her essence… wanting to hear what the wisdom is she has to offer us this time round..
Where in our lives are we being asked to let go and release…
Where are we asked to allow the old to compost into the new
Where in our lives are new buds beginning to open
Are we even noticing…
Are we even allowing them to unfurl their precious tender petals so that the bees and butterflies can come close..
Where in our life are we being asked to go quiet, withdraw from life for a while and just tend to the inner garden of our soul
Where are we needing to go forth and harvest the fruits of our inner work…
…is an ancient feminine energy.
When she arrives with her changing forms and cycles.. Mother Earth shows us we have permission to not be the same each say… to be reflective, still and meditative at times… to expand, take action and be in community other times.
Mama Earth, the Great Mother… anchors me to the connection of my lineage… the woven thread that exists between my own mother and myself .. between my mother and her mother… between my grandmother and I. We are all beautifully Divinely connected.
Then there is the mother essence woven between the woman I am right now and my younger self, my inner child… between myself and my own children and the unborn grandchildren who will be part of this lineage some day.
My grandmother held the seeds in her womb for the future to be birthed… just as Mama Earth holds the seeds for all the bounty that spring forth from her.
Within ourselves as women… it is not only our wombs that birth physical life… we have the possibility to birth and create dreams and new patterns for our life … from our intuitive essence… which has always been a part of us.
This is how I have personally come to experience the mother essence in all her mystery and all her different faces.
Exactly one year ago I began walking in nature each morning. I listened closely, my heart and eyes tuned in to her presence… and these words came forth inside of me:
“When a woman communes with nature something inside her soul is awakened.”
